Burudi Lake
An artificial water body maintained by local authorities, Burudi lake is at a distance of about 5 kms from the city. The lake is surrounded by thick forests and green hills -- it provides a scenic view for those looking to relax and maybe engage in photography. It's best to visit the lake when there's little fog so that the view of distant hills does not get obscured.
Dharagiri Fall
Located about 6 kms away from Burudih Lake, Dharagiri Falls are a prime attraction for tourists to Ghatshila. At a height of about 25 ft, these falls make for a marvellous sight and are not to be missed when visiting during monsoon season.
Dimna Lake
Dimna Lake in the Boram Block. This lake is near to the Dalma Wild life Sanctuary and is quite attractive having the facility for boating. Tourists visit this lake especially during November to February. The distance from Ghatshila to Dimna Lake is 53 km.
Chandil Dam
Chandil Dam standing on the Subarnarekha River is a place of scenic beauty. This dam is one of the most visited places of jharkhand. Chandil is famous for its importance in the field of tourism. The River Swarnarekha flows through this region. The Karkori River originating from the Hundru falls mingles with the Swarnarekha River here at chandil. The distance from Ghatshila to Chandil Lake is 68 km.
Phuldungri Hills
At a distance of about 4.2 kms from the centre of the city, this is a series of hillocks rather close to Tata Nagar. Upon climbing the top, one can obtain an aerial view of Ghatshila. This view is especially remarkable at night when the light of the town are switched on and one can see them spread out all across the landscape. While the view is mesmerising on its own, the trek trail itself is no less. Passing through dense forests, it is a relatively less known path that is sure to enthral you if you like trekking in general.
Narwa Forest
This is a small patch of forest cover through hillocks and rivulets. There's place to sit by the main tributary, in case you're looking for a picnic at this serene spot. Make sure to pack some food and your camera! There are lots of colourful butterflies and lizards to be photographed here. The forest is at a distance of some 10 kms from Rankini Temple.
Rankini Temple
The Rankini mata temple dedicated to Kali Mata is quite popular among tourist visiting Ghatshila. This is a very ancient and famous temple in the Eastern Jharkhand area. This temple is located in Jadugoda, about 12 km distance from Ghatsila.
Panch Pandav Hills
Panch Pandava Hills are among those Mountains, which surround the picturesque valley of Ghatshila. Panch Pandava Hills are some of the ancient mountain ranges, which date back to the period of Pandavas. According to the mythological legends, the Pandavas inhabited these mountains while they were wandering in exile.
Bibhuti Bhushan Bandopadhayay’s Cottage
Gourikunj, the house where eminent Bengali novelist Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay lived and breathed his last at Dahigora in Ghatsila subdivision of Jharkhand, has been restored. The one-storeyed house where the author of Pather Panchali (The song of the road) lived with his wife and son from 1938 to November 1, 1950. This place is around 2 km away from Ghatshila.
Gurrasini Hills
Gurrasini Hill lock is an interesting place near at Belpahari. At the base there is an Ashram and at the top there is a temple. The religious program of the asram and such a beautiful environment always gives the visitors a Tapovan type ambience. A pathway upwards filled with only stones took visitors to the top in around 20-25 minutes. It was a wonderful place heading through the forest. Finally at the top it was cool and great view from there. Overall a couple of hours is required for Gurrasini trek. From Ghatshila it is 47 km.
