The Ideal Plan

Start as early as possible 6am is really ideal, there are 2 options to travel.

Option 1: (Shorter by 50 km but takes over an hour extra): The Journey from Kolkata to Arambag (on the way) is about 2:45 hrs. At Arambag eating options are “Panthshala” (Basic eatery) or you need to carry your own snack / breakfast. On the way visit Bishnupur / Joypur, save any 1 for the return itinerary.

Option 2: (Longer by 50 km but takes less time) Recommended:
Take the Kolkata Durgapur expressway and head to Shaktigarh, yes langcha is a must but you can also savour some authentic Bengali breakfast before the sweets can lure you. Mihidana & Shitabhog is also a must try, after this sinful breakfast proceed to Bankura. Some shops we suggest for the sweet sin’s are Aroma Restaurant, Charnock’s, Lajawab Restaurent, Food Fantasy, Langcha Plaza, Apna Dhaba, Langcha Kuthi, Mishti Hub, Trinca (Multi-cuisine) and CCD’s on both sides of the road. In Bankura you can indulge in shopping, immerse yourself into an Adivasi experience or visit Mukutmonipur.
